How-to guide
How to export your journal for your attorney
Create a cleaner package instead of sending a pile of screenshots.
When your attorney asks for documentation, do not send a chaotic pile of screenshots if you can avoid it. Custody Journal gives you a cleaner way to package what matters.
Go to Reports. From there, you have a few good options depending on what your attorney needs. If you want something fast, use Quick Report and choose the report type and time period. If you need a more formal package, create a full report or open Evidence Timeline for a cleaner chronological view. If you need a bigger bundle, Evidence Package can compile journal entries, communications, calendar items, and related files into a structured export.
As you build the report, choose the relevant date range and include only the sections your attorney actually needs. If you already use privacy rules, you can apply privacy redaction before generating. Once the report finishes, open the report detail page. From there you can download the PDF directly. If sharing is easier than emailing files back and forth, you can also create a share link from the report detail screen.
For attorneys who want context plus source material, the evidence package is especially useful because it can include an index, journal entries PDF, communications PDF, custody calendar PDF, and supporting documents in one organized bundle.
Key points
- Skim the export before sending it.
- Confirm the date range and child are correct.
- Leave out irrelevant material when your attorney asks for a narrow issue.
