Parenting Time Calculator
Pick a common schedule, add holiday or summer overnights if your order gives them, and see the year split. Parent A and Parent B are labels, not a judgment about who should have more time. This parenting time calculator is an estimate, not legal advice, and it is not your court order.
Schedule
Friday and Saturday nights, every other weekend, starting the first Friday of the year. Nights before that Friday stay with Parent A. Sunday daytime is not an extra overnight.
Overnights this year
365 nights in the year. The two parents add up to that number.
- Parent A
- 313 overnights (85.8%)
- Parent B
- 52 overnights (14.2%)
The blue bar is Parent B's share. On weekend schedules, Parent B has the first weekend of the year. On week on/week off, Parent B has the first Friday-to-Friday week.
Track the time you actually got
A calculator shows a plan. It cannot show a late Friday, a denied weekend, or a holiday that moved. Custody Journal is where you log the parenting time that happened, with the date and any message or photo you saved.
How the count works
Each pattern asks one question: where does the child sleep that night? A visit that starts and ends the same day is not an overnight. The Ohio preset calls the same overnight counter the Ohio parenting time hub uses for Franklin County. Holiday spans and summer weeks in a county rule are not folded into that base count. Type them in if you want them in the split.
The pictures for these patterns live on the custody calendar page. If you want a blank paper log instead of a year total, use the printable custody log.
Common questions
Is this parenting time calculator my court order?
No. It estimates overnights for a pattern you pick. Your signed order controls, including exchanges, holidays, and summer. This is not legal advice.
What does the Franklin County (Ohio) Option D preset count?
Franklin County Option D: Friday and Saturday nights every other weekend, starting the first Friday. Wednesday time in that rule is not an overnight. Other counties on the Ohio hub use different schedules. Read the county page before you treat this number as local practice.
Do holiday and summer nights change the split?
Only if you add them. The base patterns leave those blocks out. Extra nights move from one parent to the other and stop at zero. They cannot make the year longer than it is.
