Delaware County parenting time

If the order says the court schedule applies, parenting time is at least every other weekend and one weekday, unless the parents agree otherwise. Holidays come before other parenting time.

Juvenile court for unmarried parents may use a different schedule.

Schedule by age or option

Court minimum

Weekend
Every other weekend, Friday at 7:00 p.m. to Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
Midweek
One weekday. Not yet in mandatory school: 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Kindergarten through 8th grade: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. High school: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Holiday
Holiday list below. A holiday on a weekend is spent with the holiday parent. The rest of that weekend stays with the parent who normally has it.
Summer
Weekly switches, Friday at 7:00 p.m. to the next Friday at 7:00 p.m. Summer runs from the day after school ends until seven days before school begins. The weeks are split in half.

Beggars' Night October 31, 2026 Mother Even years with Mother and odd years with Father through 6th grade, if both towns use the same date. Otherwise each parent has the night in that parent's town.
Mother's Day May 10, 2026 Mother 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. if the parents cannot agree.
Father's Day June 21, 2026 Father 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. if the parents cannot agree.
Spring break Date follows the school calendar. See official rule. Father Father has spring break in even years. Mother has it in odd years.

  • Mother: 313 overnights (85.8%).
  • Father: 52 overnights (14.2%).

Friday and Saturday nights every other weekend. The weekday visit in the minimum schedule is not an overnight.

Holiday blocks and summer weeks are not in this count.
