Local Rule 9.3 adopts standard parenting time guidelines and long-distance guidelines. The court's forms page links this standard order and a separate long-distance order. This page summarizes the standard order. The long-distance order is not summarized here. Parent 1 is the residential parent and legal custodian. Parent 2 is the other parent. If the order is part of a shared parenting plan, Parent 1 is the residential parent for school purposes and Parent 2 is the secondary residential parent. If the children fall into more than one age schedule and the parents do not agree, the kindergarten-to-16 schedule is the one schedule for all of the children. The child's birthday stays with the parent who already has regular parenting time that day.

Juvenile court for unmarried parents may use a different schedule.

Age 3 to kindergarten

Weekend
The parents share time equally by alternating weeks. A week starts Sunday at 5:00 p.m. unless they agree otherwise. Parent 1 has the first full week after the child's third birthday. Parent 2 has the next week.
Midweek
The parent who does not have the week may have Tuesday and Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., unless they agree in advance. That parent provides dinner.
Holiday
Holiday chart below.
Summer
The age-2 vacation rules apply. If the parents already alternate weeks, a single vacation week is taken during a week that parent already has. A two-week vacation adjusts the rotation so the other parent has the following week.
